Understanding the Doctrines of Grace

TULIP is the acronym for the most common way of referring to the names of these doctrines of Sovereign salvation. These aren’t the best names for what they describe, but it is how they have been referred to most often in history. (I seggest better names in parenthesis)

T – Total Depravity (Radical Depravity and Man’s Inability)

U – Unconditional Election (Sovereign Election)

L – Limited Atonement (Particular Redemption)

I – Irresistible Grace (Effectual Grace)

P – Perseverance of the Saints
